Synthetic rubber imports rose again in July

In July 2020, China imported SBR 40,490.36 tonnes, up 28.42% month-on-month and 49.66% year-on-year; the import volume of BR was 43,052.68 tonnes, up 19.14% month-on-month and up 117.41% year-on-year; the import volume of SBS was 7654.52 tonnes, it was up 70.15% month-on-month and 185.44% year-on-year.

  

Synthetic rubber's imports were up again in July from the previous month; the first half of the year was affected by global public health events, activity has been stagnant for a while in developed economies such as Europe and the United States, and the low prices of goods from South Korea, Russia and India have led to a rise in the market enthusiasm of domestic businesses. From April to May, the supply of US dollars has been flowing into China domestic market.

 

In terms of exports, in July 2020, China exported 1,550.66 tons of emulsion-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber, up 61.40 percent from the previous month, down 30.26 percent from the previous month, exported 3,715.14 tons of cis-polymerized rubber, up 75.09 percent from the previous month, down 24.61 percent from the previous month, exported 1,693.89 tons of SBS, it was up 11.80 per cent from the previous month and down 43.90 per cent from the previous month.


Since April, some South Korea and Russia have offered us $850-900/T for long-term shipment to Hong Kong, and Russia has offered us $900-950/T for long-term shipment of 1,502 Butadiene Benzene to Hong Kong.
