Distribution of the synthetic rubber industry

The Asia Pacific region accounted for 53.8 percent of global rubber production in 2018, followed by Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and the synthetic rubber, according to the International Rubber Conference Organization (IRCO) , 26.5 per cent and 19.7 per cent respectively.

The main reason for this distribution pattern is the rapid economic development in the Asia Pacific region, which has promoted the growth of synthetic rubber consumption and led to the expansion of supply and demand in the synthetic rubber market, this has increased the scale of production in the synthetic rubber industry. Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and the synthetic rubber, with their large and well developed oil and chemical industries, have stable output values.

In September 2020, the China Synthetic Rubber Corporation produced 680,000 tons, up 5.1 percent from a year earlier, and the synthetic rubber produced 5.36 million tons, up 4.7 percent from a year earlier, according to National Bureau of Statistics of the People's Republic of China, the China Synthetic Rubber Corporation.
