Production has fallen sharply and prices are still falling

The output of domestic PVC producers in February was 1,488,900 tonnes, down 4.69 per cent from 1,790,200 tonnes in January and 16.83 per cent from 1,562,100 tonnes in February last year. Domestic production of PVC IN JANUARY-FEBRUARY 2020 totaled 3.279 million tons, a slight increase of 0.23 percent from 3.271 million tons in the same period last year.


As of last week, 71.65 percent of PVC production plants were operating, up 3.36 percent from the previous week and down 11.17 percent from the same period last year. At present, the production enterprise inventory more than 790,000 tons, and is still showing a slow growth trend, relative to February production, production enterprises inventory accumulation has exceeded half a month's production.


Last week, weak domestic demand for PVC in China caused spot prices in Asia to fall by $10 per tonne, CFR at $890 per tonne in India and CFR at $850 per tonne in China. China, with weak demand, is also actively seeking to export.
